We are an "Association For All Military Officers Serving the Greater Los Angeles and County". A National 501(c)19 Veterans Service Organization, the 1919 founding of The Military Order of the World Wars (MOWW) resulted from General of the Armies John J. "Blackjack" Pershing’s request that his officers continue serving America after their active military service ended following World War One. Congress further granted MOWW a Federal Charter for Patriotic Organizations (Title XVIII) on October 23, 1992 as part of Public Law Number 102-484 (National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1993).
"Serving Youth, Community, and Nation Since 1919" local MOWW chapters provide opportunity for all active duty, retired, or former federally-recognized officers (commissioned or warrant) of the United States to unite in various community outreach programs supporting Veterans, Patriotic Education, ROTC and JROTC, Scouting, Youth Community Service, National and Homeland Security, Law and Order, Public Safety, and our First Responders.
MOWW members ("Companions") live by the Motto:
